A new release, well two in-fact, have been added to the database, namely “Grandeur” with a free “Lite” version being released simultaneously which makes use of one of the three layouts included in the full version.

This site was the influence behind this release, in fact it’s as near to a “clone” as possible using Wordpress, but with many enhancements thrown in for good measure, beginning with the exhaustive theme control panel.

From this control panel you can switch on/off and edit almost every element of the theme, nearly every aspect of the demonstration site can be turned off if need be, just by clicking a button - and unless you intend on adding a variety of plugins and custom buttons there is absolutely no coding involved when editing this theme.

There are three layouts to choose from too, a “blog” version (which is pretty much the “Grandeur Lite” release), a “dynamic” version and a “static-combo” version, with the latter being a combination of static and dynamic contents on your frontpage.

By selecting the “Dynamic” layout, your frontpage will be almost fully-automated, displaying your most recent four posts, complete with accompanying image (custom field) within the main column. The “static-combo” layout will allow you to control the vast majority of frontpage contents via the theme control panel - again, no editing files or using FTP!

The customisation options don’t end there neither, like I said before, you literally can control almost every aspect of this theme just by visiting the theme control panel.

A solid Content Management System theme, based on the “SkySports” website, is coming soon to Wordpress Sorted.

In a similar mould to our “SayTanTah” theme, the theme will be an almost-clone of the popular sports portal, but with some major advancements all-round.

A comprehensive ‘Theme Options’ page is included which allows you to edit and control a series of elements of the theme itself, you can turn on or off certain area’s of the theme and edit numerous area’s without having to write one line of code!

I’m very excited about this release, I have been working on it for a couple of weeks now and is about 70% complete so I expect another 3 or 4 days development work left and it will be in a releasable state.

So this is the first post of the new informational site at Wordpress Sorted, it’s not a blog as such, but more of a permanent home to all Wordpress Sorted related items that aren’t theme releases, which is why it is a seperate Wordpress installation - slightly integrated with the addition of a handful of plugins.

As this is the very first post of the new site, you won’t be able to see the categories within the sidebar, so until I manage to fill it up with contents I shall briefly run through on what you will find on this site.

It will feature all announcements of latest theme updates for older releases, along with any latest previews I wish to share with you on forthcoming ’sorted releases (I get too excited sometimes and cannot contain myself) and theme tutorials detailing on how to get started with ’sorted themes.

Also planned during 2008 is the installation of discussion forum boards where visitors and customers alike can ask their pre-sales questions, post support threads, make suggestions and even add their own ’sorted theme improvements.
